The Biophysical Oceanography Group produces monthly oceanographic reports for the eastern Australian coast which summarise key environmental variables such as sea surface temperature (SST) and chlorophyll concentration. These variables are important indicators for coral reef ecosystems and other biological processes.

Project Manta - East Australian Current Oceanography Report, March-April 2013

Monthly and weekly means and anomalies of MODIS SST for Mach and April are indicating strong eddy activity.  Monthly and weekly means and anomalies of MODIS chlorophyll-a concentrations.  Chlorophyll patterns related to the behavior of the EAC and strong eddy activity.

Torres Strait / GBR Environmental Conditions Report, May 2013

Mostly average SST prevalent over the entire GBR and Torres Strait areas during May.   High Chlorophyll-a signal was observed on the inner reefs along almost the entire GBR.
